I painted this gargoyle the day Notre Dame's forest roof burnt down. These French gargoyles are said to protect Notre Dame, specifically from water damage. There is not much I can say to contribute to the conversation around 2019's Notre Dame fire. I have always been drawn to these stone monsters. It felt like a good day to paint one.
